While we still wait for John Romero’s Sigil later this month, there’s another massive fan WAD available for DOOM fans that recently just had its final revision.
Created as a “birthday gift to DOOM“, Eviternity consists of six five-map episodes, which use a new high-quality texture pack called OTEX, created by by Ola “ukiro” Björling, and each episode features a different theme to them. Looking at the screenshots posted on the thread, the WAD is certainly no slouch project.
The WAD was initially released back in December, but as mentioned, recently had its final revision released (which you can read about here). The WAD is intended to be played with the following ports: PrBoom+, GZDoom, Eternity & Doom Retro; and is supported in Zandronum when playing multiplayer.
Once again, it’s amazing how after 25 years, DOOM still has fans pushing the game to its limits.
